Things one can do to support Club America.

You might not know this but that is the logo of the America soccer club. This is one of the most successful Mexican soccer teams. They are from Mexico DF, the capital of Mexico. My family is a big fan of this team. We all get together and have cookouts almost every weekend just to watch them play; it’s like church on my house every Saturday. This team helps unite my whole family. We have cried when this team has lost a championship, but it has also made us smile many times when they win the championship. We have seen them play in Monterrey, Mexico many times. Every time I look at this picture I feel like we are part of the America community, always supporting the team even at bad times. In the most recent championship (2012) we went out to the streets of Brownsville and celebrated with many other people. It was as if everybody knew each other for years. Everybody was hugging, cheering, laughing, and interacting with random people. It was an amazing experience that I will never forget. It’s amazing how a single soccer team can bring many strangers together and make them act as if they were best friends for many years.

Interview:

I was able to interview a friend of mine and in the interview he mentioned that his family also gathers for some soccer games. He also mentioned that having jerseys from the club could be another way of showing your support towards the team. When asked how he showed support for his team, he replied "Go watch them every time you get a chance", meaning that every time the team is in town for an exhibition match, one should be there supporting the team. Attending some of the clubs games would show support but would also be a great and fun time to experience.
